Who sends ideas
Ideas are sent by parents, guardians, teachers, and librarians who are 18 or older. Kids under 13 should not contact us directly, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn a child contacted us directly, we'll delete it.
What we collect
Only what a grown-up sends us: the drawing or idea, the child's first name, an optional age, and the grown-up's email so we can reply. Please don't send last names, schools, towns, or photos of children.
If you join our waitlist, we collect your email and whether you're a parent, teacher, or librarian, through Formspree, the form service we use. We only use it to tell you when Kid Canon opens and about Founding Comics.
How we use it
To turn the idea into a comic, publish it on kidcanon.com and our social accounts (like @TheKidCanon on X) with the child's first name, and to email the grown-up about it. That's it. We don't sell or share anyone's information.
AI and our comics
We use AI tools to help illustrate, and a person on our team guides, checks, and finishes every comic. Kids' work is never used to train AI.
Ownership
Your child keeps ownership of their idea. You give Kid Canon permission to make it into a comic and publish it.
Changing your mind
Email hello@kidcanon.com anytime to have a comic taken down or your information deleted, and we'll take care of it.
